This position requires you to reside in Japan during your employment with Wizcorp.Wizcorp is looking for Unreal Engine (4 and 5) Programmers to work on exciting projects for next-generation consoles. C++ needs to be your lingua franca, and you’re not afraid to deep-dive into the engine itself to make some improvements. Sounds like you?Then this job is for you! Typical day 🎮📆🕹️You start your day by reviewing code from other engineers and ensuring they meet quality expectations. Some days will be spent implementing control systems for consoles in a clean and extensible manner, or investigating performance on the target platform and modifying the game or engine to improve this.Afternoons will often be spent testing updated code on target platforms to ensure correctness and performance.The ideal candidate will be able toDesign, test, and debug own code without assistance from other engineersBreak down large features into engineering tasks and work with other engineers to complete themMentor engineers in software development best practicesHave an interest in working on both games and their toolsConfidently communicate with all members of the companyRoles and Responsibilities 🛠️🧪✨Estimate own tasks and deliver them in a timely mannerWrite clear, maintainable code that passes review by other senior engineersRaise all blockers when they arise to the project leadTest and document provided solutions to allow other developers to review and learnImplement and uphold software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycleTake ownership of large areas of the code base and large complex featuresTake ownership of mission-critical areas of the codebaseCoordinate with members outside of the engineering team to deliver features in a timely mannerDetermine large feature feasibility and propose solutionsProvide solid programming expertise to deliver large features and architecture suggestionsProvide code review analysis that uses all relevant experience to foresee problems with design and implementationApplication process 🈸⚙️😊① Online selectionWe review resumes from all applicants within 2 weeks.
