As a Senior Systems Software Engineer for EA SPORTS in Madrid, you will guide us in architecting and scaling the core foundations of our American Football franchise within Unreal Engine. You will join a collaborative, inclusive team dedicated to improving player experiences and shaping the future of sports gaming. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will help us deliver scalable systems that empower our development teams and delight players worldwide. Responsibilities: * You will develop complex engine systems in Unreal Engine, aligning with our technical roadmaps and team goals. * You will define and manage per-system frame budgets, establish performance metrics, and provide technical guidance to ensure benchmarks are met across multiple teams. * You will implement and scale foundational engine systems for a performance-critical, networked game architecture, improving memory footprint and stability. * You will create data-driven systems to support live service updates, including asset streaming, patching strategies, and live-data synchronization. Required Qualifications: * 10+ years of experience with C++, including best practices and architectural considerations for large-scale systems. * 5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine architecture, covering primary systems, performance management, memory optimization, and multithreading strategies. * Experience with parallel programming, resource management, and multi-processor hardware architecture in game development. * Advanced debugging skills for client/server multiplayer games, including profiling and resolving performance bottlenecks within Unreal Engine.
