As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering teams, shape technical strategy, and grow our technical talent to deliver high-quality sports entertainment games. You will bring a background of varied technical capabilities that can include system design, engineering workflows, and online architectures. You will work in a hybrid model, 3 days a week out of our EAV Studio in Burnaby, British Columbia (Tuesday to Thursday) and will report to the Technical Director. Responsibilities: * Provide direct line management, coaching, performance management, and career development for Engineers across multiple technical disciplines. Develop engineers and future technical leaders. * Organize and lead mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and initiatives that grow engineering capability and collaboration across teams. * Partner with leadership on headcount planning, team structuring, succession planning, hiring, and onboarding to build the engineering talent and culture needed for our future. * Guide long-term technical strategy aligned with product vision and studio-wide goals across multiple workstreams * Partner with Production, Design, Art/TA, QV, and other disciplines to align priorities, navigate trade-offs, manage dependencies, and deliver cohesive product outcomes. * Foster an engineering culture focused on ownership, predictable delivery, quality, and collaboration. * Uphold standards for architecture, code quality, performance, testing, continuous delivery, and sustainable management of technical debt. * Oversee engineering execution across multiple concurrent teams, managing risks and dependencies to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery of major features and milestones. * Evaluate new technologies, third-party solutions, and toolchains to guide make-vs-buy decisions and strategic technology adoption. * Champion and lead team-wide adoption of AI-assisted development tools, defining and enforcing guidelines and best practices to incorporate AI into coding and workflows effectively and responsibly. Qualifications: * 10+ years of professional software development experience delivering complex, multi-platform software systems or live-service titles. * 4+ years of direct engineering leadership experience, including managing managers, lead engineers, or multi-team organizations. * Experience with mentoring, goal setting, mediation and career planning * Experience identifying and recruiting talent based on staffing requirements; you understand candidate hiring practices including interviewing techniques * Demonstrated history of leading multi-year technical strategies and driving organizational growth. * Deep technical background in large-scale software design, modern programming paradigms (e.g., C++, C#, Java), distributed systems, and platform ecosystems. * Expertise in establishing processes and metrics to improve team health and execution quality. * Experience evaluating latest AI technologies, leading teams through tool and workflow transformation, and educating teams on safe and high-impact AI usage Pay Transparency - North America COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS  The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).  PAY RANGES * British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$141,400 - $204,400 CAD Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
